First Aid workshop

CTK Girl Scouts
On Oct. 3rd, Brownie troop 3099 hosted a First Aid workshop.  All of the girls made small travel kits to keep in their bags.  Park Ranger Michelle Campbell came to talk to us about poison oak and poison ivy.  While she was doing that, the other girls toured an AMR ambulance.  They learned about different medicines and tools they carry.  After all of that was done, we ate lunch and had a brief recess.  After lunch the older girls learned about splints and how to make them.  The younger girls practiced calling 911.  We all got back together and the older girls practiced making arm slings on the younger girls.  We then learned and practiced the Heimlich maneuver taught by Leader Linda.  We all talked about what we learned about.  My favorite part was touring the ambulance.
